Subject: Regarding the revision of Continuation (Renewal) Fees of MCIM Registration under MMP ACT 1961.
Respected Sir,
I am registered ISM Graduate under Maharashtra Council of Indian Medicine) MCIM, Mumbai. I have paid full registration charges at the time of registration with MCIM and applied for continuation in due course.
This process of continuation was not conducted by MCIM since December 2015 which was due from January 2016. So all the registered graduates have not been continued since January 2016.
As per the orientation meeting conducted by the Council for further continuation, I have been informed that the Council has imposed heavily all the charges for process of registration and the process of continuation (now called as renewal). Also according to the Gazette notification dated 31st January 2019 of the Ministry of Medical Education and Drugs,
It is clear that the Council is about to start the continuation (renewal) of registration and charging Rs 2000/- per ISM graduate for the same which are not reasonable and factual according to me.
Previously MCIM never charged for continuation of registration of member when continuation or renewal of registration was done in time. The late Fees was applied if any registered member doesn’t act for continuation in stipulated time. Along with this, MCIM had arranged near about 75 booths / centers across Maharashtra for continuation / renewal of their graduates as a helping hand and all expenses for those booths / centers were beared by MCIM.
As the process started by MCIM is Continuation of Registration and NOT Renewal of Registration, I am unable to understand why to pay fees for Continuation of Registration. It is said that the Fees of Rs 2000/- is not for continuation or renewal, but it is for Digitalization of registration by MCIM. But Rs 2000/- fees for digitalization is not factual or reasonable according to me. There are about 90000 ISM graduates in Maharashtra and the fees collected at the rate of Rs 2000/- will be in crores and I don’t think the expenses of digitalization will required so huge amount.
These fees should not be charged fr every continuation (renewal) to the regular registered practitioners.
So I humbly request you to cancel this fees or atleast revise the Fees of Rs 2000/- and make it less, affordable and One Time Fees only.
Thanking you!
Your’s Sincerely
